Mission Statement

The mission of the Youth Ministry Programs at First Presbyterian Church of Lake Jackson, is to nurture faith and discipleship in Jesus Christ through fellowship, mission, study, and worship. By thus developing today's youth , we will renew our Church throughout the World for tomorrow.

Youth Activities                                                                              

Events for the year include a mission trip, fellowship trip, youth conference, youth retreat, youth leadership development opportunities, and our ongoing quality weekly program. Each of these events individually addresses one or more of the development mechanisms prescribed in the mission statement. Additionally, the events contribute to each other in a synergistic manner to build a strong overall youth program. For example, this year, we saw over 80% of the youth that participated in the ski trip also chose to go on the mission trip later in the year. In fact, the number of youth was greater for the mission trip than it was for the ski trip. The range of activities serves a dual purpose of providing a well balanced program along with allowing significant youth participation for those unable to routinely participate in a weekly program.
